  2. ARJ Help screen.
  3.  
  4.         Hotkeys:
  5. This board uses a "hotkey" system, to activate any menu command simply hit
  6. the key highlighted, usually in parentheses (), and it will execute.  There
  7. is no need to hit <enter> to activate a key.
  8.  
  9.     Commands:
  10. (H)     If you are reading this screen, it is assumed that you know what
  11.         (H) does.
  12.  
  13. (1)     This key (and the other numbered keys) will give you a protocol
  14. (2)     screen.  You choose whatever protocol you prefer, I suggest Zmodem
  15. (3)     if your terminal program supports it.  The file transmission will
  16.         then commence.
  17.  
  18. (1)     Specifically, this key will send the latest version of the
  19.     self-extracting archive containing all the ARJ files, everything
  20.     required to compress and extract files.
  21.  
  22. (2)     This key will send the latest version of UNARJ, the programmers
  23.     utility bundle that includes the structures and requirements for
  24.     creating your own extraction utility.
  25.  
  26. (3)     This is to send the current version of ARJMENU, a menu-driven
  27.         utility that makes ARJ a bit simpler to use.  There are other menu-
  28.         driven utilities that support ARJ, including Stereo Shell and SHEZ,
  29.         but these are not specifically ARJ-related so are not put here.
  30.         Call with your real name to download these.
  31.  
  32. (4)     This sends the short text file HOW2ARJ.TXT.  The docs in ARJ are
  33.         very complete, but for new users can be a bit complex.  This file
  34.         explains the basics (VERY BASIC) of extracting a file with ARJ, and
  35.         creating a new archive.  Handy for new users.
  36.  
  37. (M)     Leaves a message to the sysop of this bullitin board.  NOTE:  Do
  38.         NOT expect a reply unless you leave a name, the name at the top of
  39.         the message will be ARJ, which means very little.  If you have a
  40.         question, leave your name and a voice phone number and I will try to
  41.         contact you, unless you are outside the continental US.

  44. (G)     Goodbye.  Disconnects you from the board, allowing you to use your
  45.     new-found ARJ files.

  48.         Hopefully this screen will clear up most questions, if you do have
  49. one feel free to leave a (M)essage with your questions.  Also feel free to
  50. drop by with your "real" name, as this board offers free access and NO file
  51. ratios. Any user can download any number of files they wish, uploads are NOT
  52. required by anyone.
